That Cha-Cha Feeling... Cancer New Moon, Venus enters Virgo

Cancer New Moon. We're gently being guided back toward our inner selves this week; so that we may listen to the call of the cravings in our heart. From a need for privacy, to the possibility of fatigue - quality time to self-care will demanded of us. And in doing so, we'll experience some memorable flashbacks, with intuitive insights for a fresher understanding. During these sacred moments, be aware of inner resources that thirst for replenishment. This particular hunger becomes a part of our dreams and wishes, which form self-nurturing seeds of intention for the New Moon on Wednesday, July 15.

Should I cool it or should I blow? The Clash

The New Moon is at home and in her natural sign of Cancer, where sensitivity, feelings, and a human sense of mercy reside. Strong lunar currents are flowing toward us, to reveal emotions and vulnerabilities, which can include a need for privacy. We'll be peeking at life from inside our individual protective shells, so that we can still lick our wounds and tend to insecurities. Emotions sway with the Moon in Cancer, encouraging feelings to rise to the surface, but shyly swim back into hiding. It's the safety dance of the crab (Mars in Cancer), where we can carefully sidestep to the Clash tune 'Should I stay, or Should I go'.

On a personal note. My natal Mars is in Cancer, so I'm quite aware as to how my free-spirited gypsy and crazy party-girl ways (from my Sagittarius Sun) had confused many people - who did not understand the depth and sensitivity of the 'real' me. My proud, courageous Leo Moon can tell you that 'sidestepping isn't weak'. It's a careful walk based on consideration, to gently move forward and creep closer - without invading the boundaries of others, or threatening mine. This cardinal energy is a bold do-er, who creates through inner security, adaptability and nurturing. Sidestepping is a back and forth, side to side movement, to initiate and create a mutual understanding - that's pretty much like the cha-cha dance - then waiting to see if you'd like to 'cha-cha' too. And if not (or if the wait is too long to meet halfway) - then we move along, to cha-cha across the the disco floor.

I share my experience and interpretation; because there's a LOT of water and emotions that are floating around in the cosmos; with Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Mars in Cancer, along with Saturn, Neptune and Chiron. It may be hard to see clearly, so many of us will be relying on our feelers and others senses to find direction. And because this is a highly sensitive time, we can take much personally, or feel rejected - if we're not expressing ourselves correctly with each other. So while it's not favorable to respond prematurely to assumptions, worries or what if's... attempt a New Moon cha-cha step, with a less-threatening approach. Say what you mean gently, or offer a kind gesture that's straight from the heart, if words tend to fail you. Then step back and to the side, to see who or what will meet halfway.

By understanding some of this, we can be better prepared when waves of imagination begin to flow in with the Mercury/Neptune trine on Monday July 13. Support that we require may be insufficient with the Venus/Saturn square on Tuesday July 14. With the Cancer New Moon on Wednesday July 15, we can become much more hypersensitive - and easily easily offended. Wednesday's opposition between Mercury/Pluto and Mars/Pluto brews an uncomfortable storm of unpleasant communications with uncontrollable demands. It will be a helpful to not overstep boundaries or take anything personally - and sticking to your cha-cha moves.

If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were. Richard Bach

Venus enters Virgo. Values begin to shift as Venus exits flashy Leo, and enters reserved Virgo on Saturday July 25.
